Chirp at the Birdie- cat toy
This cute little cat toy was inspired by a little Talavera bird I bought in Tubac. My kitties Love this!
Materials: Few yards of scrap yarn in 3 colors, for beak, body, and eyes. Sample used Blue Sky Dyed Cotton for the body, Ornaghi Praemium for the beak, and a tiny scrap of some black yarn I had, with an F 3.75mm hook. Polyfil. Catnip- I use pellets from
Dr. Fosters & Smith. I bought a big jar and put a few pellets in. Less mess and very happy kitties.
Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy
I created this little toy while waiting fora crochet meetup. I have made a bunch of these for my kitties and the kitties I pet-sit for. They all adore them.
Materials: Small amount of Sport,DK or Worsted weight yarn, little bit of contrasting yarn for eyes and gill. Hook of appropriate size to obtain tight gauge. Polyfil. Catnip. (see above for my recommendation)
Octopus Cat Toy
I made this little guy at a Knit & Crochet Meetup where we were making cat toys to donate to the local SPCA. It works up very fast and the kitties love them.
Materials: Small amount of Sport,DK or Worsted weight yarn, little bit
of contrasting yarn for eyes. Hook of appropriate size to
obtain tight gauge. Polyfil. Catnip. (see above for my recommendation)
Under the SeaStar
I designed this for a class I taught on Amigurumi at a Knit & Crochet Retreat in Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA. It is very easy to make and is purposely designed so that the arms dont fit symmetrically, since so few starfish are.
Materials: 60-75 yards any gauge yarn. Hook of appropriate size to
obtain tight gauge. Polyfil. Sample was made with
Filatura di Crosa "Brilla" held double with an H 5.0mm hook.
Zig-Zag Lace Scarf
I designed this scarf for the Knit & Crochet Retreat I taught at. The pattern went in a goodie bag for the attendees with a hank of yummy alpaca yarn.
Materials: Approximately 100-110 yards Bulky weight yarn. Size M or N 9mm hook. Sample was made with 1 hank
Misti Alpaca Chunky.
Starlet Headband
This lovely crocheted cable headband was made with the leftover yarn from the Hollywood Starlet purse.
Materials: 50-75 yards sport weight yarn. Size F 3.75mm hook. Sample was made with
Colinette Tao.
